Jacopo Chessa (Turin, 1973). Chessa studied cinema history with a focus on French cinema of the 1950s and 1960s. He has written articles and two books, taught at Université de Paris III – Sorbonne nouvelle, and collaborated with the Archivio Nazionale Cinematografico della Resistenza. In 2010, together with Andrea Spinelli, he founded the Prime Bande production company in Turin. He directed L’accordo (2011), a documentary about the last worker strikes at the FIAT Mirafiori plant, and he produced Torino Hardcore, a film about the Italian punk scene of the 1990s. Since 2014 he is the director of Aiace Nazionale and Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio, a film library and agency for the promotion of Italian short films.
